Sydney Simmons Shotgun Start

80 members played & all set out on time for the Sydney Simmons Shotgun Start. Don sounded the Klaxon and we all started at the same time. It was a lovely day, the weather couldnt have been better. Azra cooked us a fantastic BBQ when we all came in and prizes were handed out to the victorious players who played so well.
A brief note was read out for the benefit of the new players who do not know who Sydney Simmonds was and why he was so important to the Club.
The winners on the day were:
1st Lady - Sue Jelley with 44 stableford points
1st Gentleman - Steve Worsfold with 44 stableford points
1st Team - Peter Aldridge, John Benner, Roger Bellward and Marilyn Glover with a total of 101 points
2nd Team - Marcus Lincoln, Chris Hodges, David Morey and Kevin Jenner with a total of 99 points
(teams scores were best of two players on each hole)
Nearest the Pin - Geoff Baker
Longest Drive Ladies - Heather Day
Longest Drive Gentleman - Martin Larkin
