Charity Texas Scramble

The first mixed match of 2018 was our Ladies Charity Texas Scramble in aid of the Ladies Charity - Honey Pot, a charity for children who are carers for their parents. We raised £280 from the raffle which takes our year's total to our target for the year of £2,000, this includes the wonderful amount of £600 raised by Jean Bailey during the year when she took to the skies doing a wing walk.
Thank you to all those who donated prizes to the raffle and to all the 41 players who turned up and helped to make it a great day.
So on a cold but dry day we all had a lot of fun and using the Ambrose Rules, the winners were:
1st - Enid Jones, David Lovett, Laurie Day and Gerry West with a score of 56.25
2nd - Maggie Jupp, Ron Sullivan and Richard Thomson with a score of 57.50 on countback to last hole!
3rd - Lavina Cox, Clive Wakeman and Roger Jones with a score of 57.50
4th - Patricia Sewell, John Wakeman and Billy Jermey with a score of 60.67
A lovely bowl of hot soup and french bread awaited us all when we got in.
